Great Brook Nursery

Growers of unique, garden worthy perennials.

A collection of hardy perennial plants from around the world selected to create beautiful and useful landscapes.

The 2024 Season

After building this project for the last five years, we are excited for this next season. We have been growing out our unique collection of medicinal, edible and ornamental perennials each year, refining the collection and building our stock.

Great Brook Nursery grew out of our love for growing plants and our collection reflects our work of the past years. We are primarily propagators and nearly all of our plants are grown from seed or from locally acquired divisions. This is important, because when you buy a plant from us, you can be assured that it is well acclimated to our Northeastern US climate.

So, once again, dive into the amazing flora of the world with us and dream of gardens full of beautiful and useful plants.

Opening weekend May 4th and 5th!

Our nursery is located at 58 Lee Rd in Plainfield, Vermont.

We have been growing medicinal and ornamental plants for 20 years, and had dreamed of growi ng this interest and skill into a small, home nursery business. The idea for what that might look like began “germinating” while reading through a catalog of ethnobotanical seeds. We would translate this idea of a collection of medicinal, edible, ornamental and culturally important seeds into a nursery of living plants. Since 2017 we have been developing a curated selection that represents this vision. We are now ready to offer our unique collection of 1-3 year old medicinal and ornamental landscaping plants. We hope our catalog inspires you to dig into the crazy world of the plant kingdom, learn their names and their stories and fill your gardens with beautiful and useful plants!
