This species Dragon’s head is a tidy, clumping and long lived perennial from China and northeast Asia. The foliage is made up of small oblong, lance-shaped leaves. The blueish-purple flowers are tubular and two lipped like many from the mint family. They are borne on racemes 12”-18” tall. The foliage persists after flowering. Likes a sunny well drained spot and probably flowers better in a rock garden or in a dry sunny location. We propagate just the one species, there are supposedly some other nice ones. We will have the white form of in the Fall of 2026.

D. argunense ‘Fuji Blue’ - A Jelitto introduction. Tidy, slow growing and very drought tolerant. Works well in containers.

Sold in deep 3” pots. Well established.
