Glaucidium palmatum (Ranunculaceae)
Highly sought after, though uncommon in the trade, the Japanese Woodland Poppy, is one of the best plants for the shaded woodland garden. Large lavender, or less commonly white flowers, come out with the maple-leaved foliage in May and June. After flowering, the foliage of the bushy, 18-24 in plant persists nicely throughout the summer and produces an attractive seed head. I started collecting seeds from Cady’s Falls Gardens in 2019 where they have some large and beautiful specimens. We are excited to finally have a nice collection of this uncommon, slow growing and choice perennial.
