Highly sought after, though uncommon in the trade, the Japanese Woodland Poppy, is one of the best plants for the shaded woodland garden relishing a rich well drained soil and bright shade. Large lavender, or less commonly white flowers, come out with the maple-leaved foliage in May and June. After flowering, the foliage of the bushy, 18-24 in plant persists nicely throughout the summer and produces an attractive seed head. I started collecting seeds from Cady’s Falls Gardens in 2019 where they have some large and beautiful specimens. We are excited to finally have a nice collection of this uncommon, slow growing and choice perennial.
Quart size - These have multiple stems. Should flower first year - purple flowers. We sometimes have a few whites which take a few years to show.
