Hyssop is a hardy aromatic perennial native to Europe with narrow leaves and small, dark blue, and sometimes white, flowers in dense 5 in. spikes. Can bloom profusely from summer until fall attracting beneficial insects and pollinators. Grows 1-2 ft. and does best in a warm, sunny spot in slightly alkaline soils. An important herb used for teas, potpourri and as a medicinal cough suppressant and bitter. It is one of the primary ingredients in Chartreuse.
