Miscanthus Sinensis (Poaceae)

$12.00

Grasses are a wonderful addition to the perennial garden offering  nice contrast to flowers and broad leaves. Miscanthus, or silver grass, is a clump forming grass that can grow 6’-8’ tall with reddish-purple or white plumes in late summer and fall. Retains its fountain shape into the fall creating a beautiful winter display. This heat loving grass is considered invasive in some places south, but here in zone 4 it stays contained and never gets a chance to mature seed. The leaves and plumes make a nice addition to late summer bouquets.

Sold in deep 6” pots.
